Back To Work
July 19, 2010

After the most amazing display of athleticism and community, it is time to get back to work. The 2010 CrossFit Games were a great experience and the event was truly inspirational. From people setting personal records by 30 pounds, to people getting their first muscle-up, it was the best display of fitness ever seen. Congratulations to all the competitors who were lucky enough to compete and especially to Kristen Cleaver and Graham Holmberg who were named the "Fittest Man and Woman in the world!" Each year the CrossFit Games have grown and this year was no exception. This year the Home Depot Center played host and the venue was spectacular. The workouts were insane ranging from "Helen on Steroids", to a new girl wod named "Amanda", and who can forget the memorable finish with Rope climbs, burpee-wall scaling, wall climbs, toes-bars, etc. The weekend was action packed and make sure you mark it on your calendar for next year!  If you missed any of the action go to: games2010.crossfit.com, to check out videos and results of what you missed.

96lb weighted pull up

2:41 800m

25 pullups (not my best effort)

1:17 400m

108 air squats

i was shocked how much my legs were feeling it after the 400 meter run and that definitely slowed down the air squats.  i need work on my pistols, and pullup efficiency

Weighted Pull Up:   72# (PR +4)

800m:  3:06 (Has to be a PR)

Max PU:  38  (PR +3)

400m: 1:33

Pistols:  38 reps

First time doing Pistols .... glad I can cross that off the list.  Left foot was definitely stronger than right ... 25/13.  And thank you Brian for counting out your final pull up rep, to give me a little more energy for the last few.

@Josh C - I would hate to be the sorry SOB criminal running away from you.

@Drew  we rested 1min between, but probably got more than that after the runs since the rest started once the last person came in.

I was happy with my first Pistol effort, until I saw Roman's score. Both sprints totally took it out of me. I felt like I had nothing left after each one. I foresee a lot of rope climbs, pistols, and ring HSPUs coming this year.

96lb pullups

2:37 on 800m

26 pullups

1:20 400m

54 air squats. Spent first 2 minutes trying to get pistols then figured to hell with it. Going down was no problem, it was the standing up that gave me problems! Emily made them look  deceptively easy!

800m destroyed me for rest of wod. Will do better next time around....
