Monday was medium weight and long. Tuesday was bodyweight and twenty minutes. Today will be heavy and fast. We present..."The Floater" wod from the Southwest Regionals. It's heavy and hard, but it's another domain that you must dip into to balance your training. Balancing heavy weight overhead is not the easiest or the most comfortable thing, but it's an essential skill for Crossfit. Just remember, the faster your get the push jerks done, the less you will have to clean it from the ground.
WOD
For Time:
20 Push Jerks(185/135#)
40 Burpees
Post time to comments.

I see the heavy portion of this, but I can't for the life of me see where it's supposed to be fast.
And are we doing the lateral hurdle for the burpees?

No hurdle. Break up the sets of 20 and 40 in-any-which-way-combination necessary.

10:26 @ 165# (Jerks were done in 7:20)
I really wanted to give 185# a shot, but I'm just too sore and my I know I'd just jack my wrist up even more cleaning 185#, so I backed out last minute and did 165# which was plenty hard enough. I've never wanted to do 40 burpees so badly before.
Props to anyone that does this Rx.

I really enjoyed doing a WOD from the Games...I have a whole new appreciation for the level of competition.
Nick and Jimi, I have exchanged e-mails with Paula and Jordan I understand they will be at the box from 10-2 tomorrow. I'll cancel Oly and the 9 am WOD and sign up for the noon class when they are there. Depending on what the WOD is, I would like to be sure to capture my other physical capabilities also. I'll be there at 10, we can talk it over then. Thanks.

185# is no fun to throw around and burpees over a damn parallette just plain sucks.
